Hello new friends and old ones. I hope you like the new layout of my website! As we are about to release some new music, we thought it was time to give the old site a makeover, so let me know what you think.
I am finally ready to go in the studio and complete my 2nd CD. The Maxi EP is as yet untitled, but 90% of the songwriting is done. I have begun to put together an amazing team of musicians, engineers, and others to help me bring my vision to life. Remember to check the blog for updates on where we are.
Hang on, it's going to be a rocking summer!
Although a member of the Hip Hop Generation, FL Jones was always more drawn to bands, live instrumentation, and musicality. He developed his skills as a performer in night clubs, industrials, and theatres across the eastern United States. Appearing along side such greats as Celine Dion, CeCe Peniston, James Brown, and many others. While living in Atlanta GA, he soon began writing and producing demos for others; honing his skills as a songwriter and composer. After several years of learning his craft he made the move to NYC.
6 months after arriving in NY, FL landed a leading role in the Australian Production of the Broadway Musical RENT produced by Cameron Macintosh. During his year-long stay down under, he performed as a solo artist in front of millions on various television programs, and landed a pictorial and interview in Australian Rolling Stone. After leaving Australia , FL continued to tour with the Broadway show; performing in Japan, Hawaii, and all across the U.S.
After years of being on the road he returned to NYC to make his mark as an artist and a songwriter. Forming a band he performed in prestigious venues around the city such as The Jazz Standard, The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, and many more. FL also scored the feature film “ 200 American”, and worked as composer and music supervisor for the films “Raw Moves”and “Whirlwind” as well as supplying music for the indie film “The Family”.
FL is excited to announce the release of his debut CD “ Becoming Myself” produced by Michael Levey. The album is a funky blend of old school R & B with an urban pop vibe. Upbeat, poignant and musical, the new record shatters the notion of what is modern soul music.
